WIFE OF SCHMOLL, MALVEN EUGENE CPL US ARMY
May 27, 1925 - April 1, 2008
Funeral services for Phyllis M. Schmoll were held Friday, April 4, 2008, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rapid City with the Rev. Bob Jacobs officiating.
She will be inurned at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Phyllis was born May 27, 1925, in Tripp to Eugene and Lydia Nuss. She was raised in Tripp, graduating from Tripp High School.
She attended Dakota Wesleyan University for one year, marrying Malven E. "Tiny" Schmoll on August 28, 1945. They lived in Tripp for a number of years before moving to Kadoka, Rapid City, Mitchell, then back to Rapid City due to Malven's job.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, active in the choir in her earlier years, and involved in the Bible study group. She played the piano and organ.
She died Tuesday, April 1, at Rapid City Regional Hospital at the age of 82 years.
She is survived by three sons, Donald J. Schmoll and wife, Lois, Rapid City, Alan K. Schmoll and wife, Linda, Summerville, S.C., and Anthony Schmoll and wife, Sally, Summerville, S.C.; daughter, Janice (Schmoll) Valerioti, Howell, N.J.; and numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Malven in 2003; two sisters, Irene Wildermuth and Bernice Weidel; brother, Floyd Nuss; and a son-in-law, John Valerioti
