Ravalli Republic 10-January-2002 ---- Leo Schnabel CORVALLIS - Leo Schnabel, 75, of Corvallis passed away in Bullhead City, Ariz., on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, of a heart attack. He was wintering in Bullhead City and resided with Molly Schimke in Corvallis. He was born in Leola, S.D., on July 3, 1926, to August and Lydia Schnabel. Leo retired as a hand builder for Holz Rubber Co. in Lodi, Calif. He married Vera Picht on Sept. 25, 1949. He was preceded in death by his wife Vera on Dec. 12, 1994, and by siblings Walter Schnabel and Florence Frederickson. Surviving include son Richard Schnabel and granddaughters Jennifer and Kristi Schnabel; son Ronald Schnabel and granddaughters Elizabeth and Madeline Schnabel. He is also survived by sister Val Schorzmann of Tennessee; brothers Ruben of Wisconsin, Marvin and Melvin, both of Anaconda, and Harold of Butte; and sister Arlene Windedahl of Colorado. Visitation will be noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton with the Rev. Stephen VanGilder officiating.
