Birth: Nov. 28, 1920 Mandan Morton County North Dakota, USA Death: Mar. 29, 2004 Bismarck Burleigh County North Dakota, USA Lucille I. Ressler, 83, died March 29, 2004, at a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 1, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Revs. Al Leary and Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Catholic Daughters Rosary will be said a 4 p.m. and a rosary and vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Lucille was born Nov. 28, 1920, in Mandan, the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Schwartzbauer) Pitzer. She was raised and educated in Mandan. On Feb. 14, 1944, she married Frank Ressler in St. Anthony. Lucille worked for Cloverdale Foods for many years. Following her years at Cloverdale, she worked for Northern Great Plains Research Center until she retired. Lucille was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved working with flowers and tending to her garden. She spent many hours in her garden and loved being outdoors. She is survived by one son, Jerry, and his wife, Bev; her daughter, Karen Morman, and her husband, Joel, all from Mandan; her grandchildren, Lisa (Julius) Brekhus, Kenmare, Lori (Scott) Wiese, Mandan, Jason Morman, Boise, Idaho, and Melissa Morman, Mandan; her great-grandchildren, Shantell and Shelby Brekhus and Tristan Wiese; and one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Lottie Pitzer, Katherine Mosbrucker and Ted and Polly Ressler. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank, who died Feb. 21, 2000; an infant son, Franklin; her brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Pitzer, Richard Pitzer and Leonard (Rose) Pitzer; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, Florence Hille, Margaret Pitzer and Elizabeth (Ray) Stall.
