Cynthia Mae Dworshak was born Jan. 16, 1959, on the family farm east of Flasher, the daughter of Joseph and Cecelia (Bender) Dworshak. Cindy's childhood consisted of many farm activities, specifically including milking cows. She graduated from Flasher High School in 1977. On Sept. 3, 1982, she was joined in marriage to the love of her life, Peter "PJ" Deichert. They began a life together on a farm south of Raleigh. Their most prized possessions are their five children, Ryan, Corey, Andy, Ashley and Kristin.
Cindy enjoyed sewing, crocheting and anything that involved crafts. Cooking was among Cindy's greatest abilities. Her caramel rolls and buns were the best, along with all the German dishes that she loved to prepare. She planned many funeral luncheons and always made note, "I hope someone will be there to plan mine." Cindy enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, and enjoyed canning and preserving the fruits of her labors. Special times for Cindy were spent socializing with family and friends, especially at family gatherings. She loved to give gifts; she had a special one for everybody. Cindy possessed a great talent for remembering birthdays. She always recalled the birthdays of her siblings and their spouses, all of her in-laws, and nieces and nephews which numbered 40 or more.
Throughout her life, Cindy's faith always upheld her; it was her source of strength. Going to church was a great priority, even if it meant driving to Bismarck.
Cindy's special hugs and uplifting smile will be dearly missed by her husband, Peter "PJ"; her daughters, Ashley and Kristin Deichert, Raleigh; three sons, Andrew and Corey (special friend, Michelle Bassen), both of Raleigh, and Ryan, (fiance, Sara Schmidt), Bismarck; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sandra Svihla, St. Anthony, and JoAnn (Rick) Schmaltz and Beverly (Rich) Hausauer, all of Bismarck; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Marge), Kansas City, Mo., Jerome (Colene), Omaha, Neb., Terry (Rita), Washburn, Joe (Linda), Taylor, Wis., David (Kimberly), Minot, and Jeffrey (Michelle), Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jeannette Dworshak; and one brother-in-law, Ervin Svihla.
