Nicodemus “Nick” Wock, 87, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, after a long struggle with his illness.
He was born in Dickinson, N.D., on July 13, 1927, to Michael and Rosemary (Vogel) Wock. He was married to Isabella (Betty) Hushka, the true love of his life, on Sept. 25, 1950.
Nick and Isabella were blessed with a large and loving family -- Nicoletta (James) Charles, Adam Wock, Richard (Connie) Wock, Paulette Wock, Duane (Theresa) Wock, Joyce Benz, Al (Andree`) Wock, and Tammy (Mark) Shutey; grandchildren, Shane (Tamara) Charles, Bunni Rae (Harris) Maceo, Rick Jr. (Lanny) Wock, Michelle (Chase) Erickson, Duane Jr. (Jari) Wock, Tyler Wock, Amanda (Brett) Aune, Bryan (BreeAnna) Benz, Samantha Benz, Siobhan Wock, Tyrell (Pam) Liebel, Matthew Shutey, Cyndel Liebel, Bryce Liebel, and Marcus Shutey; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Rosemary (Vogel); brother, Willard Wock; sisters, Viola Wochl and Jan Warner; children, Nicoletta Charles, AdamWock, and Paulette Wock; son-in-law, James (Bubba) Charles and grandchildren, Roy Michael Charles, Jerimiah Michael Benz and Joshua Daniel Benz.
He prided himself with his family and thoroughly enjoyed the activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nick was a loving husband, a family man; truly a man of many traits. He was an avid outdoorsman, a jack-of-all-trades and a successful businessman. There was never a venture too big, a mountain too high, nor a project he didn’t complete successfully. His view of the world, his determination and his finesse for business proved him to be a success at every venture he attempted. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, in St. Teresa Church, 107 Second St., East, Whitehall.
