August G. Letzelter, 97, of Cabot, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away on March 6, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born January 4, 1919 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of August G. Letzelter and Freida Dahlem Letzelter.
Augie served in the US Army during WWII in the 111th Infantry, having participated in six invasions in the South Pacific.
He worked as a Insurance Salesman. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Cabot. The most important thing in his live was spending time with his family.
Surviving are wife, of 72 years, Etta R. Reddish Letzelter, his children Paul (Denise) Letzelter of Plum Boro, Nancy (Michael) Puhalla of Pittsburgh, Richard (Debbie) Letzelter of Buffalo, NY, Larry (Terry) Letzelter of Sarver and Steven (Sherry) Letzelter of Erie, his sister-in-law, Elinor Wisnoski, who was raised by Etta and Augie, of Penn Hills and 9 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ruth Letzelter
Friends will be received on Saturday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA.
Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, 2016, 10:00 am at the St. Joseph R. C. Church.
Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
