The Southern Illinoisan, Carbondale, Illinois, 12 Nov 2003 issue
ROYALTON -- Edward SAPP, 79, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, in Heartland
Regional Medical Center in Marion. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.
11, 2003, in Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, with the Rev. Don Wright
officiating. Burial will be in Zeigler City Cemetery. Visitation will be
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Sapp was a retired farmer. He was an elder at the Church of Christ in
Miner and a teacher. He was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Benton, to Jesse Lee SAPP
and Rosa HUFFINE SAPP. He married Clara June (EISENHAUER) SAPP on Jan. 29,
1947, in Benton. She survives. Other survivors include children, John Edward
SAPP of Benton, Thomas Lee SAPP of Rogers, Ark. and Nyla Lee MONTGOMERY of
Mulkeytown; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; half-brother, Robert
E. MAY of West Frankfort and half-sister, Ellen Jane WILLIAMS of Royalton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Franklin Dale SAPP and
half-brother, Emil SAPP.
