David F. Rose, 96, of 31901 Little Injun Road, Lower Salem, Ohio (Marr Community) died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Marietta Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Marietta, Ohio.
He was born near Marr, Ohio on March 31, 1912 a son of the late Fred Rinehart and Nancy Parks Rose. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Creighton Ridge Church of Christ near Sycamore Valley, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Edra Hines Rose on October 22, 1992; two brothers, Woodrow and Fred Rose; one sister, Oneida Rose Schneeberger and several sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.
Mr. Rose is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Hale (Darlene) Maze of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Mrs. Elmer (Karen) Messer of Ashville, Ohio; two sons: Harry (Gwen) Rose of Canton, Ohio and Gerald (Ruth) Rose of Vincent, Ohio; 11 grandchildren: David (Melinda), Dana (Carmen), Whitney (Amy), and Nathan (Alison) Rose; Jeffrey (Christine) and Jason Decker; Duane (Jenny) Maze; Denise (Larry) Ash; Heather (Justin) Hoon, Diane Jensen and Dierdre (Jon) Vaught; 16 great-grandchildren: Hannah, Matthew and Ruth Ellen Rose; Mallory, Aundrea and Jordan Decker; Zachary, Jacob and Adam Jensen; David, Anna and Ryan Rose; Matthew and Tyler Hoon; Cailin Rose and Haley Renee Ash; one sister: Ms. Edna Patton of Newark, Ohio; several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 5-9 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008.
Friends then received at the Creighton Ridge Church of Christ near Sycamore Valley, Ohio from 12:00 p.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008 with Evangelist Roger Rush and Evangelist Steve Fuchs officiating. Burial will follow in the Creighton Ridge Cemetery near Sycamore Valley, Ohio.
