ANSTED - Joseph Howard Deligne Jr., 75, departed this life Saturday, May 25, 2002, at his home among family and friends following a four-month illness. Born Aug. 18, 1926, in Connellsville, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Nora Marie Smith Deligne Sr. Mr. Deligne was a member of the Ansted Baptist Church, FDAF (Ford Dealer Advertising Fund), Ansted Lions Club, New Haven Foundation, Knights of Pythias, Masonic Lodge, Board of Directors of The United National Bank and secretary/treasurer of the Men's Bible Class. Mr. Deligne was co-owner/ president of Deligne Sales and Deligne Finance Service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving from July 26, 1944, through June 28, 1946. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Deligne, on April 26, 2002. Surviving are his daughter, Kembra Deligne Crist and her husband, Barry, of Ansted and his son, James Howard Deligne and his wife, Brenda, of Ansted; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua and Jacob Crist; caretakers, Judy Horrocks of Oak Hill, Regina Mims of Fayetteville, Brenda Morris of Ansted and Lyda O'Dell of Ansted. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ansted Baptist Church, Ansted, with the Rev. Larry Gawthrop and the Rev. Phillip Dent officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Rest Mausoleum at Victor. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Ansted Baptist Church in Ansted and one hour before the service Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Eddie Deligne, Steve Deligne, Billy Deligne, Barry Crist, Jeremy Crist and Paul Massey. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ansted Baptist Church Building Fund, St. Paul United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Ansted Lions Club.
