Alexander Liggett Retired from American Bridge Steel Company Alexander Raymond Liggett, 82, of Henderson Avenue, Washington, formerly of Independence and West Alexander, died Monday, August 17, 1998, in his home. He was born February 28, 1916, in Washington County, a son of Ray and Margaret Liggett. Mr. Liggett was retired from American Bridge Steel Company in Pittsburgh. He was a Presbyterian. Surviving are two sons, Frances "Brother" Liggett of Eighty Four and Larry B. Liggett of Claysville; eight daughters, Mrs. Jim E'Allesandra, Karen Rush and Mrs. Ed Amon, all of Washington, and Norma Rubin and Mrs. Jerry Edmond, both of Titusville, Fla.; one brother, John "Jack" Liggett of Canonsburg; four sisters, Virginia Liggett, Mrs. Josephine "Josy" Craig of Washington, Gladys Rohm and Clara Frye; 35 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Deceased are his wife, Roxie Winters Liggett, in 1998; one daughter, Katherine Liggett, in 1962; five brothers, Ralph, Frederick, Ashley, Sam and Abner "Jay" Liggett; four sisters, Anna Tilton, Myrtle Waugaman, Hilda Scott and Nora Huston. CORRECTION Incomplete information appeared in the obituary of Alexander Raymond Liggett, published Wednesday. Omitted were three surviving daughters, Joanne Longstrenth, Nancy Hughes and Marie Seighman, all of Washington. Also, he was 85 years old and was born in 1913.
