James C. Hohman, age 88, of Louisville, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Monday, December 9, 2002 in St. Joseph Care Center following a recent illness. Mr. Hohman was born June 5, 1914 in Caldwell and was the son of the late Emil and Cora (Schott) Hohman. He was retired from the Boyle and midway Company following 34 years of service and a retired farmer. Mr. Hohman was an Army veteran, a member of the Stark County Farm Bureau and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville.
Mr. Hohman leaves behind two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Purdy Westover of Louisville, and Elaine and Gary Wymer of North Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sharon Hohman and Dale and Karen Hohman, all of Louisville; two sisters, Edith Schramm of Zanesville, and Edna Archer of North Canton; two brothers, Charles Hohman of Canton and Herman Hohman of Caldwell; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Gertrude (Nau) Hohman, who passed away November 28, 1999; a sister, Lucy Haldebrand, and a brother, Morris Hohman.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, December 13 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville with Msgr. Ken Miller officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Friends called Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville.
