ZANESVILLE - James W. Schoeppner, 75, of Zanesville, passed away at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.
James was born Dec. 2, 1930, in Fulda, near Caldwell, to the late Bede and Marilla Catherine Blackstone Schoeppner. James was an active member of South Zanesville United Methodist Church, retired from Owens Brockway Glass, and loved the outdoors, gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carole Marie Danley Schoeppner of the home, with whom on June 9, 2006, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; two sisters, Virginia Brier of Caldwell and Paulene Wickhan Mizik of Cumberland; a sister-in-law, Florence Schoeppner of Zanesville; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Schoeppner; and a sister, Eileen Kachilla.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 7, at The Snouffer Funeral Home, 1150 W. Military Road.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006, in the Snouffer Chapel with the Rev. Joy French officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
