He was born August 15, 1923 on the family farm north of Richardton, ND where he lived his entire life. Adam was the son of Mike and Tillie (Fleckenstein) Hauck and attended a country school near the farm in his early years. Later, he attended the Assumption Abbey. Adam married Millie Doll October 9, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton, ND. Throughout their 57 years together they farmed, ranched and raised their 7 children. They enjoyed many activities including traveling in their camper van and square dancing. Adam was always very involved in serving his community and church. As an active and dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, Adam achieved the rank of 4th Degree Knight and was named State Knight of the Year in 1995. In 1997 his family was named North Dakota Family of the Year and went on to be named International Family of the Year, 2nd runner up. As a member of St. Mary’s Church, Adam served as an usher and Eucharistic minister as well as on St. Mary’s Endowment Fund Board. He volunteered for and coordinated many popular events in support of the Church and the Knights of Columbus and could always be counted on to lend his cooking skills to the cause. Adam was a charter member of the Richardton Rural Fire Department and continued to serve on the Board until his death. His efforts helped to establish funding and equipment for the department. He also was a member of the Richardton Saddle Club, Germans from Russia and Stockmen’s Association. Adam was active in the cattle business and enjoyed attending livestock sales. He was happy to mentor the young ranchers and farmers who often came to him for advice. Many Hauck Reunions, chaired by Adam, brought hundreds of relatives together for these celebrations. Adam was an avid card player; a trait he passed on to his children and grandchildren. In his later years, Adam enjoyed spending time in his grain bin getaway and creating the many freehand plasma-cut metal sculptors that are displayed at his farm. Adam is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Millie; their six children, Dale (Diane) Hauck, Richardton, Duane (Kay) Hauck, Fargo, ND, Renae (Bernie) Reynolds, Moorhead, MN, Mike (Jodi) Hauck, Ellensburg, WA, Randy (Theresa) Hauck, Velva, ND, Carmen (Dan) Hoefs, Fargo, ND; fourteen grandchildren, Brendan Reynolds, Tracey Hauck, Dallas Hauck, Austin Hauck, Dustin Hauck, Delton Hauck, Dominic (Amanda) Hauck, Alison Reynolds, Phillip Meier, Danielle Hauck, Adam Hoefs, Trevor Hauck, Christine Hoefs & Chance Hauck; two great-grandchildren, Karsen & Brooks; three sisters, Minnie Gress, Helen (Ted) Kubisiak, and Rose Marie Hauck; many brother-in laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
