Raymond A. Glausser, 81, of Dubuque, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Rd. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the American Legion Post #6 of Dubuque. Friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00 Monday at the funeral home.
Raymond was born on November 8, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Adolph and Anna (Parkhurst) Glausser. He graduated from Langley high school in Pittsburgh and received his BA from Slippery Rock State University. On October 30, 1954, Raymond married Elizabeth “Betsy” Durkin. She preceded him in death on August 21, 1995. Raymond began a long and successful career with A.Y. Manufacturing Company in 1956. He retired 38 years later as Vice President of Sales. He and Betsy had resided in Dubuque since 1972.
Raymond loved being around his family and friends and always enjoyed a round of golf.
Surviving are his three children, Michael (Sharlene) Glausser of Burnsville, MN, Christie (Greg) McCoy of Dubuque, IA and David of Winter Haven, FL; his grandchildren, Jonathan Glausser, Caitlyn and Connor McCoy and Riley and Grant Glausser.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth and his sister, Melvina Kuntz.
