In 1909 her parents moved to the Wessington Springs. She married Herbert Mettler at Jerauld County, South Dakota on 28 Oct 1929. Sisters Clara and Helena Redmann married brothers Henry and Herbert Mettler. Helena died at the age of 33 years, 2 months and 12 days. She was survived by her husband and two children, the youngest just 8 days old from her death, her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
