Robert M. Hearn

Mr. Robert M. Hearn, 90, formerly of East Hill, Canajoharie, died Saturday at the Martin Luther Nursing Home in Clinton, where he resided since 1989.
Born June 21, 1907, in Port Byron, he was the son of Michael E. Hearn and Julia Quinn. He graduated from Savannah High School in Rochester and attended Auburn Business College in Auburn. He lived in Canajoharie from 1959 to 1989.
He was employed at the New York State Employment Office in Rochester and later was a salesman for American Greeting Co., in Rochester. He was then the owner and operator of Hearn's Corner Store in Canajoharie retiring in 1972.
Mr. Hearn was a communicant of St. Peter's & Paul's Catholic Church in Canajoharie.
He overcome polio as a young boy.
Mr. Hearn was a former member of the Canajoharie-Palatine Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Canajoharie Country Club.
He married Mary M. Burkhard on April 22, 1946. She died Aug. 2, 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Regina H. McGuire of Fairfield, Conn., and Colleen J. Perry of Clinton; two sons, Brian Q. Hearn of Canajoharie and Stephen B. Hearn of Hampton; a brother, William M. Hearn of Canajoharie; five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Robert R. Hearn in 1982.
A prayer service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's & Paul's Catholic Church, Canajoharie. Spring burial will be in St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery, Canajoharie.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
