Charles Edward Ketter, 75, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at DeForest, Wis. He was the brother of Iolan Dorothy Ellis.
He was born Aug. 20, 1931, in Iola to Al M. and Rose Clara (Zeller) Ketter. He left home at 16 for Pontiac, Mi.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and fought in the Korean War and then was stationed in Japan until 1954. In 1957 he rejoined the service until 1961, serving a total of eight years.
He was married to Lanora (Grieshammer) Wild on Jan. 2, 1959. She preceded hm in death on Jan. 21, 2002.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years, retiring in 1986.
He loved harness horse racing, baseball, football and doing odd jobs around the house.
Other survivors include two daughters, Terry and Gary Regge and Randy Wild; two grandchildren, Jamie and Kenneth Dalton and Troy and Stevie Duren Regge; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Dalton, Kasidi Dalton and Riley Duren; brother Bob and Ila Ketter and other sisters Lois and Don Turnbaugh and AnnaMae and Mike Frappier.
He was preceded in death by siblings Richard, Millie Myers, twins Gene and Eileen, and Don.
Services were Aug. 8 in DeForest, followed by burial in Highland Memory Gardens.
