James L. Lefler, age 68, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Deaconess Hospice Center. Mr. Lefler was president of Lefler Body Shop until his retirement in 1999. He was also co-owner of the Brickyard Apartments, a member of the West Side Nut Club and a past member of the West Side Kiwanis. Jim was an Army veteran stationed in France during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of American Baptist East Church, where he served as a trustee. Surviving Jim are two sons, Jimmy Lefler and his wife Stephanie and Greg Lefler and his wife Kelly; sisters Sharon Robinson (Don), Linda Bunch (Ralph), Mary Ozenghar (Bob), Karen Martin (Bill), Barbara Lance (Ron) and Nancy Lefler; brothers David Lefler, Charles Lefler (Nina) and Jerry Lefler (Linda), as well as eight grandchildren: Ashleigh Lefler, Josh Lefler, Sierra Allen, Maggie Lefler, Emma Mattes, Alexis Wheeler, Mason Schnerder and Grace Mattes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Magdalene (Rosenkrantz) Lefler and by two brothers, Terry "Hook" Lefler and Roger "Woody" Lefler. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at American Baptist East Church, Rev. Jeff Stratton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin St. Memorial contributions may be made to West Side Nut Club Foundation, P.O.
