GLEN ULLIN — A Funeral Mass for Tillie Hoerner, 95, Glen Ullin, will be held at 10:30 a.m. CST Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin with the Rev. Sebastian celebrating. Burial will follow at Scared Heart Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a rosary and vigil service being held at 4 p.m.
Tillie passed away Feb. 13, 2014, at Marian Manor HealthCare Center, Glen Ullin.
Tillie was born on Nov. 23, 1918, in Glen Ullin, the daughter of Mathias and Johanna (Olheiser) Erhart. She grew up and attended country school while living on the family farm south of Glen Ullin. Tillie was married to John H. Hoerner on Nov. 26, 1940, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Together they made their home and raised their children on the Hoerner family farm. To this union three children were born, Gerald, Charleen and Janet. John and Tillie retired to Glen Ullin in 1969 at which time Tillie, began working as a CNA at the Marion Manor for the next 16 years. Tillie became a resident of Marian Manor in February 2003.
Tillie enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, growing flowers and crocheting. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s and the Sacred Heart Christian Mothers. Tillie especially enjoyed getting together with her birthday group for coffee and cards.
Survivors include her son, Gerald (Sandra) Hoerner, Carson; two daughters, Charleen (Chet) Haux, Bismarck, and Janet Miller, Mandan; two sisters, Anna Schantz, Glen Ullin, and Angeline Jablonsky, Dickinson; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as three step-great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Matt Schaff, Glen Ullin; and two sisters-in-law, Monica Erhart, Hazelton, and Elizabeth Steckler, Bismarck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a son-in-law, Henry Miller; three brothers, John, Tony and Christ; and two sisters, Josephine Frank and Pauline Schaff.
