Geraldine R. Peske, Bismarck, died Feb. 10, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital after a short battle with cancer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at Boelter Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Geri was born July 6, 1923, on Good Hope Farm, east of Adrian, the daughter of Cyrus and Josephine (Solberg) Danuser. She graduated from Marion High School and Jamestown College, and taught math for one year at Edgeley. In 1947, she married Robert C. Peske in Jamestown. They lived in various North Dakota communities, including Mohall, Minot and Dickinson, prior to settling in Bismarck in 1958. She was active in several Bismarck organizations, including Bismarck Welcome Wagon, Republican Women, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Choir, Great Plains Jazz Society, and Zonta International. She was employed for many years with Provident Life Insurance Co., and for a time, also managed Bismarck Community Homes Apartment Complex.
Geri was an avid follower of her grandchildren's many activities, loved "babysitting" the family dogs and eagerly worked the soil of her beloved garden each year.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Barb, and Bob and Pam, all of Bismarck; one daughter, Mary Monette, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Kara Peske, Eagan, Minn.; Riel, Colin, Winonah and Eli Monette, Grand Forks, Rob and Tim Peske, Bismarck; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Gerald Danuser, Good Hope Farm, and Chester and Helen Danuser, Milledgeville, Ga.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Luverne and Norman McKee, Florence, S.C., and Adeline and Leon Kirschenmann, Adrian; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Peske, Arizona; and one brother-in-law, Bob Blust, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on March 3, 1981.
