lfred Schauer 83 of Brighton; died April 20, 2008 at the VA Nursing Home in Aurora, Colorado. He was born April 19, 1925 in McKenzie, North Dakota.
Drafted to the US Army in 1943 and served with the 7th Calvary Regiment under the 1st Calvary Division in the Pacific Theater and was discharged in 1946. During his tour Alfred was picked for personal guard of the comander general of the far eastern theater in Tokoyo, and served under General Mac Arthur.
Married Gladys Wiegum on September 17, 1947. During his life Alfred operated a large farm and Ranch, owned and operated his own remolding business. Worked in construction in the Denver area helping to build numerous Denver skyscrapers, also spent some time with Colorado Highway Dept. Alfred enjoyed working his own remolding business and did work for numerous TV personalities and Politicians in the Denver Area. He loved and enjoyed working his garden and received many awards for his beautiful flowers and trees, most importantly love his animals. He was considered as the neighborhood animal doctor from his days on the farm.
Alfred is survived by Daughter Jackie (Mike) Alexander, two brothers Albert Schauer, and Riene Schauer of North Dakota and one Sister Viola Dorshak of Colorado.
Funeral Services 10:30am, Friday April 25, 2008 Tabor-Rice Funeral Home. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled arrangements.
