Ella Alice Eserhut, 95, a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, entered eternal life with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Oct. 10, 2008, at the home.
She was born May 15, 1913, in Eureka, S.D., the daughter of Henry and Rose Schnabel Hoff.
On Nov. 10, 1934, she married Leonard Eserhut at Wild Rose, Wis.
Ella was a graduate of Moraine Park Technical College’s first nursing class as a licensed practical nurse, and she was employed by the Fond du Lac Clinic for 10 years. She was a charter member of Luther Memorial Church. She enjoyed traveling and winters in Florida and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader in her later years and referred to herself as a pioneer.
Ella is survived by five children, Constance Horey, Donald (Rhoda) Eserhut, Paul (Anna) Davis, Joan (Loren) Voss and Jerald Davis; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Eserhut; 12 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Lydia Hoff and Lucille Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, William Berreth; her husband, Leonard in 1990; a brother, Allen Hoff; a stepbrother, William (Eva) Berreth; a half brother, Milbert (Edna) Berreth; a son, Allen Eserhut; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Davis; and a son-in-law, John Horey.
Visitation: Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st St., Fond du Lac.
Services: Funeral services for Ella will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Luther Memorial Church. The Rev. David Naumann will officiate, and burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery at Wild Rose, Wis.
Memorials are appreciated to Luther Memorial Church.
