Charles Sheldon Hunt, 83, of Casper, passed away on July 15, 2009 at the Wyoming Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 24, 1925 in Pierre, South Dakota, the son of Charles A. and Anna Marie Sheldon Hunt. Mr. Hunt was first employed as a spray pilot for Phillip Aviation. He was employed as an air traffic controller in Denver and Casper for 22 years. He was the owner of "The Powder Horn" and the Commissary Mall in Casper. He was united in marriage to Virginia Haux on October 4, 1947 in Huron, South Dakota. Mr. Hunt was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Virginia, 4 daughters, Deborah Ann Hill of Virginia Beach, VA, Shelli Marie Elledge and her husband Ron of Phoenix, AZ, Corrine Lee Ryan of FL and Virginia Elizabeth Wailes and her husband Brent of Kersey, CO. A son, Charles G. Hunt of Daytona Beach, FL. There are 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, July 21, 2009, 2:00 PM at the Highland Park Community Church with Pastor John Spear officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Park Forward in Faith Building Fund. Private inurnment will be at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home.
