Florence Marie Glaenzer, nee Leingang, 86, of Smithton, Ill., born June 4, 1923, in Millstadt, Ill., died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Glaenzer was a member of St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church, Smithton, Ill., and the quilters club at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernis P. Glaenzer, who died June 9, 1963; her parents, Theodore Alphonse and Rosa, nee Ehrstein, Leingang; four sisters, Marcella (Gregory) Helfrich, Frances (Anthony) Helfrich, Dorothy Leingang, and Esther (Vernon) Niemeier; and four brothers, Vincent (Hilda) Leingang, and Lester, Lorraine, and Bernard Leingang; a brother-in-law, Harold Lindhorst; and a son-in-law, Gary Francis.
Surviving are two daughters and a son, Marjorie V. Isom of Hazel Crest, Ill., Shirley R. Francis of St. Louis, Mo., and Vernis J. (Rosemary) Glaenzer of Tinley Park, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Janet Isom, Joseph Nero, Christine (Don) Hutchins, Christine (Eric) Bjornson, Chris H. Francis, James, (Jennifer) Isom, Monte Isom, and Gail Glaenzer; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vernetta Lindhorst of Columbia, Ill., and Dolores (Don) Wild of Millstadt, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Elenore Leingang and Joyce Leingang; nieces and nephews; and cousins.
