Claude L. Knoy Jr., 86, of Beam Road, died at 2:43 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Knoy is survived by his wife, Ellen L. Knoy.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Dave Blystone officiating. There will be no calling.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice of charities.
Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.

Claude L. Knoy Jr., 86, of Beam Road, died at 2:43 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Born in Clayton January 4, 1926, Mr. Knoy was the son of Claude E. and Florence M. Froehlich Knoy Sr. He married Ellen L. Yockey June 12, 1949.
Mr. Knoy excelled in track and cross country while at Brownsburg and Ben Davis High Schools. He graduated in 1945 from Ben Davis High School.
Mr. Knoy was a World War II Army veteran and a graduate of Technical School of Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland and served in the South Pacific Theater.
Mr. Knoy was a partner with his father in the J.I. Case Farm Machining Business in Johnson County. He was a real estate broker in Columbus for 21 years and was the owner of North Side Realty. He was a member of Local, State & National Board of Realtors and served on the Columbus Board of Directors and Grievance Committee.
Mr. Knoy was of the Baptist faith and served as deacon, Sunday school superintendent and was active in the music department.
After retirement from real estate, he ran a pork finishing operation for nine years and also worked nine years with CVS (Collins Video Systems, Inc.) in Taylorsville and was the employee of the year two of those years. Mr. Knoy has been in failing health for the last five years.
Mr. Knoy loved the outdoors and his hobbies included farming, gardening, hunting, fishing and metal detecting.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the section of Gethsemane at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Dave Blystone officiating. There will be no visitation.
Full military rites will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ellen; children, Cissy Knoy, Sam Knoy (girlfriend, Jeanette Graves), Roy (Lea) Knoy and Michael (Cheryl) Knoy all of Columbus; grandchildren, Daniel, Chris, Jon, Emma, Samantha and Sarah Knoy; great-grandchildren, Abby and Hayden Knoy and a brother, Sylvan Knoy of Indianapolis.
Mr. Knoy was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glendon Knoy; sisters, June Bloomer and Marie Carlton and grandchildren, Brandy and Candice Knoy.
