Barnesville resident, Francis Jefferis, 81, died July 24, 2013 at his home. He was born February 20, 1932 in Barnesville, Ohio, to Ray and Marcella (Burkhart) Jefferis.
Francis married Edna Frances Lucas on November 6, 1954 in Barnesville. He worked for Blaney Lumber, as a truck driver, in Bethesda for 25 years. He was owner/operator of Triple J, Inc. of Barnesville from 1977 until his death.
His family writes: "Francis was always willing to help when someone was in need. His enjoyment of his work was admired by many and his tenacity of continually working hard throughout his entire life, astonished all who knew him."
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Jefferis.
Francis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Edna Jefferis; daughter, Diane (Rick Polanski) Jefferis; brothers, Gene (Carolyn) Jefferis of Westerville, Ohio, Tom (Rita) Jefferis of Bethesda, Ohio; sister-in-law, Carolyn Jefferis; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Joanne Lucas; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and a plethora of 'furry grandkids.'
Visitation for Francis will be Sunday from 3 to 7 pm and Monday from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am, Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Pastor Ted Buehl will be officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.
