Headstone reads: Our "Miss Sunshine"
You always had a smile for everyone.
We will all miss you.
I will love you forever.
After a long battle with cancer, Cheryl passed away, with her family at her side, on July 29, 2005, at the age of 56.
Cheryl loved life and did not want to leave us so soon, but God thought it was time. She enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hiking, biking, skiing at Sun Mountain, walking on Cannon Beach, and traveling to Hawaii. She particularly loved her frequent trips to Victoria.
Cheryl always had a smile for everyone and had a big heart, always helping people and animals in need. She will be missed by her family and her friends at work who knew her as "Miss Sunshine." Cheryl always looked on the bright side of life. She was a real angel on earth if there ever was one. We all loved her and this place will not be the same without her. May God be as gentle to her as she was to us.
She is survived by her husband, George Van Bodegraven; son, Brian (Becky) Van Bodegraven; grandson, Tyler Van Bodegraven; parents, Erwin and Claudia Helmer; mother-in-law, Evelyn Van Bodegraven; sister, Karen (Dan) Kuchan; sister-in-law, Carol (John) McKissick; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2005, at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 - 5th Avenue S., Edmonds. Private interment at Edmonds Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Breast Cancer Foundation, Puget Sound Affiliate, P.O. Box 85900, Seattle, WA 98145-1900. Also, any flowers received will be much appreciated.
