Patricia "Pat" Boehm, 66, Mandan, died Dec. 6, 2012, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, after a short battle with cancer. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Jerry Kautzman and Deacon Steve Brannan officiating. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a parish rosary/vigil at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Pat Boehm was born in Mandan, June 9, 1946, the daughter of Adam and Pauline (Renner) Gustin. She was raised on the family farm south of Mandan where she attended.
St. Anthony Elementary School and then went on to graduate from Mandan High School in 1964. After graduation she worked as a teller at Security Bank in Mandan until she married.
She married James "Jim" Boehm Feb. 1, 1965, in St. Anthony. After marriage she and Jim moved to the Boehm family farm northwest of Mandan where they raised cattle and grains. They eventually expanded the dairy herd in 1972. Pat was a big part of the milking process up to the time of her diagnosis in October 2012.
Pat loved quilting, crocheting and sewing, especially for the grand kids. She took pride in her gardening, canning, and her families many accomplishments. One of her favorite past times was collecting nativity scenes and over the years she has accumulated 56 scenes.
Pat looked forward to the summer months for bike riding and especially for Fridays, as that was her day to attend and find treasures at rummage sales. She also looked forward to having her own rummage sales with her daughters-in-law.
Pat and Jim spent their quality time dancing to polkas and waltzes, from the dance halls to around the kitchen table on Sundays before and after family meals.
She was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic church of Crown Butte and she was a life time member of Country Christian Mothers, the Eagles, the Moose Club and the GOP.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Boehm; her sons, Nathan (Heather), Alan (Tracy) and Andy (Wendy), all of Mandan, David (Tracy), West Fargo, and Tony (Mary), Colfax; 19 grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua, Jessica, Misty, Justin, Brandi, Corey, Caleb, ShiAnne, Kiersten, Ashton, Brady, Kendra, Elena, Kalie, Derek, Cody, Logan and a baby on the way; her sisters, Judy (Paul) Smith, Omaha, Neb., and Carol Wehri, Hebron; her brothers, David Gustin, McLean Va., Al (Peggy) Gustin and Dennis (Sherry) Gustin, both of Mandan; her brothers-in-law, Ron (Charlotte) Boehm, Shady Cove Ore., Ed (Elaine) Boehm, Joe (Beatrice)Boehm and John (Kathy) Boehm, all of Mandan, and LeRoy (Marlene), Springfield Ore.; and her sisters-in-law, Minnie Geiger, Nerina Geiger, Carol (Bill) Hagerott and Mary (Ralph) Fried, all of Mandan, Leona (Jim) Ressler, Bismarck, and Delores Urban, Fargo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Pauline Gustin; her mother and father in-law, John and Flora Boehm; and her infant sons, Nathan and James; her brothers–in-law, Harvey Wehri, William Geiger and Eddie Geiger; and sisters-in-law, Terri Gustin and Rose Mary Gustin.
