Eileen (Bott) Galip
Canfield - There will be a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian, Rd., Youngstown, with Chorbishop Dominic Ashkar and Chorbishop Michael Kail both officiating for Eileen E. (Bott) Galip passed away at her home in Canfield on Wednesday, July 03, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Eileen was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 24, 1933, the daughter of Frank C. and Alice (Freed) Bott.
Eileen graduated with honors from East High School in 1951 as their class salutatorian. She worked as a legal secretary, and starred in productions for the Canfield Players and the Youngstown Playhouse prior to her marriage.
Eileen has been a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Mahoning County Bar Association. She was also one of the first volunteers for Hospice of the Valley when they were founded, and she wrote their newsletter.
Eileen was an avid swimmer and tennis player. She loved to dance and also enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband. She especially enjoyed spending winters at their home in Naples, Florida.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Roberta and John Knight, her brother and sister-in-law Frank and Elaine (Terwilliger) Bott, her brother and sister-in-law Neal and Edra (Jayne) Bott, her brother Melvin (Betty Lou) Bott, her brother Chester Bott her sister Madeline Bott and her sister Gerry Bott, who died just two weeks before her.
Eileen is survived by the love of her life, her beloved husband of 58 years, Attorney Ronald Galip of Canfield, her cherished daughters, Kathy Galip of Liberty and Shelley (Robert) Root of Lake Milton, and her grandchildren who she adored, Alyssa Galip and Ron Mootz. Eileen is also survived by her brother Walter (Barbara Raub) Bott, her sisters-in-law Loretta (Vince) Morgione, Shirley (Donald) Sunderlin and Beverly (Dr. Richard) Marinelli, and her brother-in-law George Galip, Jr. Eileen had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who will cherish their memories of her, including her special godson Attorney Gregory Morgione.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home on Market Street in Youngstown, where friends can pay their respects on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4 – 7 PM, where the Prayers of Incense Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m., friends may also call on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Eileen’s memory to The Antonine Sisters, 2675 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson, Ohio 44451; The National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2757 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson, Ohio 44451 or the charity of your choice.
