Linden J. Bowman, age 84, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Salem, Ohio, the son of Herschel and Frances (Blaine) Bowman and had been an Ashtabula resident most of his life. Linden married Darlene Frances Bott on May 5, 1946.
Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Bowman Appliance Repair in Ashtabula and was well respected for his expertise in that field. It was a profession he knew and loved and spent nearly 50 years doing it.
He was a member of People’s Church in Geneva. Mr. Bowman enjoyed bowling, crafts, vegetable gardening and watching the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns in his spare time.
His survivors include five children, Linda (Mark) Wood of Hesperia, Calif., Debbie (Richard) Heath of Moreno Valley, Calif., Dennis (Tammy) Bowman of Conneaut, the Rev. Linden D. (Maribeth) Bowman of Dallas, Texas and Chris (Karen) Bowman of Conneaut; sisters, Leila Bowman and Florence Reichenbach, both of Salem, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Linden was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; his parents; and brothers, Herschel, Arden, Cletus and Glenn Bowman.
Memorial Services will be held 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28th, at Eagleville Baptist Church, 1981 St. Rt. 45., Rock Creek, Ohio, with the Rev. Linden D. Bowman officiating.
DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, is handling arrangements.
