Description: Birth: Pleasants County, West Virginia, USA
ADDED 's' to end of Pleasant, to make it Pleasants.
I know American English has few rules, but most places are named for somebody ... this case, Pleasants County is named for US Senator and Virginia Governor James Pleasants, Jr.
And as my father said when I spelled the 1st President of the United States name; George Washinton ... "Its disrespectful to spell his name incorrectly". It cost me the time and energy to write 'George Washington' 500 times in 'long hand'.
These days I rely heavily on 'spell check' (It was invented just for me.) and wikipedia. I don't know what I ever did before they existed, for I am still a 'tierible spelr'. Except for 'George Washington'.(Sorry For the lecture, I know that's the way it was given to you and that's why you keep me around even if I'm a 'tierible spelr'.)
