van S. Osborne, 93
BOARDMAN – Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home for Ivan S. Osborne, 93. He passed away Thursday afternoon at his home.
Mr. Osborne was born Jan. 29, 1915 in Greenville, Pa., a son of Claude and Vada Vosler Osborne.
He graduated from Greenville High School and Moody Bible Institute. He owned and operated Reliable Auto Body. After selling his business, he worked at Reynolds and Bookout Parts in sales.
Ivan volunteered with Meals on Wheels and visited many nursing homes. He also was active in Organization of Protestant Men, the Mahoning County Jail Ministry, and Christian Business Men’s Club. He was a member of the Simon Road Church of God.
Surviving him is his wife, the former June P. Williams, whom he married Aug. 8, 1940; a son, Ron (Patty) Osborne of North Jackson; a daughter, Sandra (Tom) Stewart of Lynchburg, Va.; a sister, Joan Gow of Greenville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death, besides his parents, was a son, Larry; and a brother, Alpha.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m., both at the funeral home.
The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, OH 44512.
