Shaler
Oscar F. Helbling, 70, died Friday at St. Margaret Memorial
Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Mr. Helbling retired after 33 years a typewriter repairman for
Royal Typewriter. He was a member and treasurer of Veterans
of Foreign Wars Post 2754.
Survivors include his wife, Faith L. Thomas; one son, Ralph
T. of Shaler, one daughter, Faith A. Skryp of Shaler; four grand-
children, six sisters, Millie Egeter and Mary Skalos, both of Ross,
Eleanor Leitsch and Dorothy Cubarney, both of West View, Ida
Weiss of Shaler and Bertha Muller of Florida; and two brothers,
Larry Helbling of North Side and James Helbling of Spring Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar A. and Ida M.
Helbling, five brothers, Harold Helbling, Emil Helbling, Howard
Helbling, Wilbert Helbling, and Ralph Helbling, and one sister,
Bernice Helbling.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and
Sunday at Schellhaas funeral home, 388 Center Ave., West View.
Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in
St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Pittsburgh, with the Rev.
Gus Flood as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Royal Cem-
etery, Shaler.
