Passed away on November 2, 2010 in his home in Penngrove. Devoted and loving husband of the late Lucille Wacker. Loving companion of MaryAnn Moeckel. Beloved father of Earl L. Wacker, Bonnie Orme, Lisette Wacker, and the late Julie Mayo. Adored grandfather of Tracy Wacker, Anna Messina-Hinks, James Mayo, and Joshua Wacker. Beloved great-grandfather of nine and great-great-grandfather of one. Loving son of the late Fredericka and Emanuel Wacker. Dear brother of Irvin Wacker and the late Anna Grimm, Lilly Feickert, Elsie Elliott, Idelette Wacker, Marvin Wacker, and Berna Lakatos. Earl is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as Joelyn Dempsey whom he loved like a daughter, her brother Ernie Moeckel, and William Salato who gave great care to Earl during his illness. Earl was respected and loved by many. Age: 80 years. A Native of: South Dakota. Together with his brother, Marvin, Earl owned and operated Wacker & Son's Housemoving. The two brothers purchased the family business from their father in 1963. Earl, along with his brother Marvin, built Wacker & Son's into a successful Sonoma County operation, moving many historical buildings in and around the county. Earl retired in 1995, leaving the business in his brother's hands; Wacker & Sons remains a family owned and operated business to this day. A longtime resident of Penngrove, Earl served on the Penngrove Fire Department Board of Directors and volunteered as a firefighter. Earl was dedicated to the well-being of the Penngrove community, and was a member of the Penngrove Social Firemen. Earl enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden with his grandchildren by his side. He also enjoyed hunting, traveling to Lake Tahoe or Reno, and having his family around him. Earl was and will remain deeply cherished by his children, Earl Jr., Bonnie and Lisette, and his companion MaryAnn who loved and cared for Earl these past nine years. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Penngrove Social Firemen, P.O. Box 264, Penngrove, CA 94951 or Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952.
