Millard was a resident of Bloomfield Hills, formerly of New Orleans.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1952 from Penn State College.
He served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948.
Millard had 48 years of experience as a Project and Systems Engineer and was a Registered Mechanical Engineer in Michigan and Louisiana. He worked on many automotive and US Army development projects, including test engineering for brake systems, the US Army Crusader program and the M1A1 Tank project. Most notably he managed the Saturn-Apollo S-1B Stage system engineering activities for Chrysler Corporation Space Division in New Orleans.
Millard enjoyed hiking on Isle Royale, trips to Canada and family vacations out west, including camping in the Grand Canyon. He also enjoyed woodworking and made a carousel horse. At one time in Pennsylvania, he was a volunteer fireman.
He owned a BMW Motorcycle and belonged to the BMW Motorcycle Club, the XM1 Riders Motorcycle Club and America?(TM)s Most Wanted Car Club.
Husband of the late Doris. Father of Michele Rehburg, Carroll Elder (Palen) and Mark Rehburg (Suzanne). Grandfather of Kahill Smith (Rebecca), Billy Rehburg and Kellie Rehburg. Great grandfather of Daphne Smith. Brother of marlin Rehburg and Muriel Seibert (Walt).
Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave. (btwn 13-14 Mile), Royal Oak, Tuesday, Nov. 23rd, 10:00am until funeral service 11:00am.
