Arnold Joseph Froehlich, 73, Klamath Falls, Ore., passed away of colon cancer Nov. 18 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Vancouver, Wash. Family and friends kept a bedside vigil to the end.

Arnold was born April 2, 1937 in Dickinson to William Joseph and Minnie (Kuntz) Froehlich.
He was in the military from 1959 to 1963. He was stationed in Texas, South Dakota, Panama and Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas, where he met his future wife Irma. They were married on Oct. 5, 1963. They separated 20 years later, but remained friends until the end.
He worked in the logging industry during the 1960s and through the 1980s as an independent truck driver.
After his retirement, he enjoyed snowmobiling with his sons and friends at Pelican Butte, Lake of the Woods, and Medicine Lake. He also enjoyed fishing at Klamath Lake.
He will be missed by family and friends.
Arnold is survived by his children, son Bob and his daughter Starla of Klamath Falls, daughter Sheila and son-in-law Victor Ordonez and their children Delayna, Jewel-lila and Jeremiah of San Fernando, Calif., and daughter and son Kathy and Jim, both of Vancouver; brothers Ray (Vivian) of Brookings, S.D., and Tom (Vernetta) of Dickinson; sister Donna (Phil) Ramsteck of Loveland, Colo; uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Minnie.
