Peter J. Froehlich, 89, Dickinson, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. The memorial mass will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2006, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Dennis Schafer celebrating. Interment will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Dickinson. Military Rites will be provided by the Dickinson Veterans Drill Team. Visitation will be held at Price-Murphy Funeral Home on Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Peter Froehlich was born May 15, 1916, in Schefield to Joseph and Francisca (Steiner) Froehlich. He attended school in Schefield to the 8th Grade. Peter helped out on the farm and entered the Army Air Corps on June 25, 1941 and served during WWII and was honorably discharged on September 8, 1945. He married Pauline Frank on May 1, 1946, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. They lived in Dickinson where he was employed at Sax Motor Company and later Dickinson State University. Peter enjoyed old time music, dice, cards and visiting with friends. He was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, St. Anthony Club and St. Pius Verein. In his later years, Pete lived at Evergreen and most recently at St. Benedict?s Health Center. He is survived by: one daughter, Diane (Ralph) Heidt, Richfield, MN; one grandson, Jamie Heidt, Richfield, MN and numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends and acquaintances. He was preceded in death by: his parents, wife, son, Duane, two sisters and five brothers and a special friend, Victoria Praus.
