nn Eleanor Kilzer, 72, Bismarck, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck with Rev. Nick Schneider officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 ? 6:45 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary will begin at 6:45 PM followed by a vigil service. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Ann was born on November 6, 1940, in Richardton, ND, the daughter of Clemens and Barbara (Hoff) Geck. She grew up and attended grade school in Richardton, ND, until the age of 12. The family moved to Bismarck in 1952 where she attended Cathedral Grade School and graduated from St. Mary's High School. She then attended Bismarck Junior College, University of ND in Grand Forks, and Northern State in Aberdeen, SD. Ann married Thomas M. Kilzer on July 1, 1972, at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck. Ann worked as a lab technician in Omaha, NE, and at Missouri Valley Clinic and Bismarck Hospital. She also assisted her husband, Thomas, in his optometric practice for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, cheering on the Twins baseball team, and collecting Dept. 56 houses and Elvis memorabilia. She was very proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Ann also enjoyed traditions and will forever be remembered for her Easter bread each year. Ann is survived by her husband, Thomas Kilzer of Bismarck; her son, Jon (Joni) Kilzer of Maple Grove, MN; her grandchildren, Jacob and Jackson Kilzer of Maple Grove, MN; her sisters, Sarah (Lenny) Surry of Gresham, OR, and Katherine (Darrell) Dorgan of Bismarck; and her brother, Tim (Holly) Geck of White Bear Lake, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clemens and Barbara Geck. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
