Tuesday evening, December 25, 1917, at eight o?clock, Miss Minnie GERTLER and Mr. John M. DECKER were married at the home of the bride?s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. GERTLER of Beallsville by the Rev. R. A. MARTY of the M. E. Church.
The bride wore a very attractive dress of sky blue taffeta and a bouquet of pink roses and ferns. The groom was dressed in a suit of dark gray. The attendants were Misses Anna and Salena GERTLER, sisters of the bride, Emerson HUDSON acting as best man and Miss Marie DOSTER of Temperanceville, Ohio, who was a guest at the Gertler home.
Mrs. Decker is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. GERTLER and at the present is one of Monroe County?s teachers, at Starr school near Lewisville, Ohio. Mr. Decker is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton DECKER and who is at the present time a senior student in the science department of Ohio Wesleyan University at Delaware, Ohio.
Although there were several suspicions of the wedding, it was not made public until Tuesday, January 1st, and in the evening were given a serenade by the young people.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Decker are prominent young people of Beallsville, Ohio.
