Carol Miller Kuntz, 74, Bismarck, died March 9, 1999, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Revs. Steve Zastoupil, Clem Gustin and Ted Gustin officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. CST at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Flasher.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, both at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. There will be a rosary led by the Christian Mothers from Flasher at 7:30 p.m. CST tonight and a rosary led by the Catholic Daughters of America Friday at 7:30 p.m. The wake service will follow the rosary Friday evening at the funeral home.
Carol Gustin was born on Sept. 25, 1924. She grew up in Flasher and was a daughter of Mike and Rose Gustin. Carol married Stally Miller on Nov. 9, 1942. They raised fourteen children on a family farm east of Flasher. Stally died on April 22, 1976. Carol later married Nick Kuntz on Sept. 26, 1986.
Throughout her life her commitment was to her family and to her faith. Carol was actively involved in Christian Mothers, U.C.T., the Flasher Homemakers, and TOPS. One of the highlights in her life was being honored as Queen for a Day. She enjoyed being around her friends, especially when playing cards and Bonco. Her favorite pastime was gardening.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Nick; 14 children and seven stepchildren, Patrick and Dawn Miller, Clarksville, Penn., Paulette and LeRoy Stenzel, Mandan, Mary Jo and James Loeb, Diane and Mel berger, DeeDee and Wayne Pruitt, all of Gresham, Ore., Kathy and Leonard Osadchuk, Carson, Jinny and Dwight Barth, Bismarck, Loretta and Bob Gerhardt, Mulvane, Kan., Tootie and Wayne Eckroth, Flasher, Ann and Delvin LaDuke, Shields, Mike and Joyce Miller, Bob and Carol Miller, Bismarck, Joe and Cathy Miller, Spearfish, S.D., Suzi and Ross Heinert, Steamboat Springs, Colo., Nick Jr. and Maggie Kuntz, Seattle, Wash., Jim and Sharon Kuntz, Bismarck, Sharon and Dan Hoskins, Flasher, Kathy and Ken Pittsley, Fort Peck, Mont., Tim and Patty Kuntz, Bismarck, Vernon Kuntz, Bismarck, and Jerry Kuntz, Columbus, Ohio; 46 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Vern and Bill Goppinger, Angela and Bert Kopp, Phil Restivo, Isabelle and Roger Mahrer, Irene and Emil Riehl, Joan and Leo Eckroth, and Alice and Al Ternes; four brothers, Father Clem Gustin, Hugo and Martha Gustin, Paul and Leona Gustin, and Andy and Shirley Gustin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stally; her parents; two brothers, Fred and John; and one sister, Cecila.
