Walter G. Ertl, formerly of Butternut, died on November 5 at St. Therese Hospice in Waukegan IL, following a lingering illness.
He was born on May 11, 1912, in Butternut. He had his early life and schooling in Butternut.
He married Doris Bruch on September 16, 1947, in Butternut. He moved to Waukegan in 1950. He was a carpenter by trade. He belonged to Carpenters Union Local 250.
He is survived by his wife, Doris of Waukegan, one son, Robert of Waukegan, two brothers George and Joseph of Butternut, five sisters, Clara Wallner and Francis Woodie of Park Falls, Rose Heiderer of Butternut, Lillian Hegel and Marie Loof of Milwaukee, and numerous neices and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, after 3:00 pm at the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 10:00 am, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butternut, with Father Charles Froelich officiating. Burial will be at St. Cecelia Cemetery, Butternut. There will be military rites under the auspices of the Zyk American Legion Post of Butternut.
