Clifford C. Bruch

Clifford C. Bruch, age 86, of Butternut, died on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. He was born on Dec. 25, 1926, in Butternut, the son of Charles and Mae (Pospichal) Bruch. His early life and schooling were in Butternut.
Clifford entered the United States Army and served during the Korean War. On Oct. 10, 1953, he married Lottie M. Ostrega in Butternut. The couple lived in Milwaukee and California for a short time before returning to Butternut.
Clifford worked in the concrete business and for Bruch Brothers Construction while in Milwaukee. In 1957, the couple returned to Butternut and purchased the family farm. Clifford ran the family farm and owned and operated a bus service for the Butternut School for 44 years. He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Butternut American Legion Post 272 and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by four children, James (Dena) Bruch of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Jeffrey (Lisa) Bruch of Esko, Minn., Linda (Daniel) Smart of Butternut, and John Bruch of Butternut; 13 grandchildren, Amy Koehler, Travis Bruch, Michael Bruch, Jennifer Smart, Jarrod (Samantha) Bruch, Megan (Andrew) Kramas, Timothy Smart, Bryan Bruch, Nicole (Mark) Skramstad, Thomas Smart, Wyatt Bruch, Rachel Bruch and Lauren Bruch; and six great-grandchildren, Kelsey Koehler, Megan Kessey, Brooklyn Kramas, Jace Kramas, Brenna Bruch, and Emma Skramstad.
He is also survided by one sister, Shirley (Tony) Logan of Chandler, Ariz.; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Mary Pritzl-Bruch; his wife, Lottie, in 2002; a sister, Charlotte Hilgart; and his infant brother, Donald.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 2, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butternut. Deacon Bob Schienebeck will officiate.
Burial will take place at St. Cecelia Catholic Cemetery in Butternut with military honors accorded under the auspices of Butternut American Legion Post 272.
A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. with a Parish Prayer Service beginning at 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
The Novitzke Funeral Home of Park Falls is assisting the family.
