Paul Joseph Fischer, 93, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died March 17, 2008, at his residence. He was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Carl T. Fischer and Mary C. (Hermann) Fischer.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was united in marriage to Frances L. Jones in 1943 in Little Rock, Ark. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Prep School and of the Julliard School of Music. He worked as a high school music teacher for many years. He was also an organist for the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans while living there.
He was a member of St. Michael?s Catholic Church in Cherokee Village, Ark., where he also played the organ when needed.
He is survived by: one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Fischer McGee and husband, Michael of Taos, N.M.; one sister, Eleanor Flannery of Los Angeles, Calif.; and one grandson, Michael McGee.
A funeral mass was held March 25 at St. Michael?s Catholic Church with Father Tom Marks officiating. Burial followed in the Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock, Ark. Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-county Funeral Home of Highland, Ark.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the charity of one?s choice.

CHEROKEE VILLAGE ? Paul Joseph Fischer, 93, of Cherokee Village died Monday at his residence.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Fischer McGee; sister, Eleanor Flannery; and grandson, Michael McGee.
A funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Marks officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Little Rock.
Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. in Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
