Marie A. Dorr was born Aug. 7, 1915, at the family farm home southwest of Streeter, N.D., the daughter of Jacob and Christina (Kranzler) Dorr. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew up in the area. She married Theodore ?Ted' Meidinger on June 26, 1937, at Billings, Mont. They lived east of Gackle where they farmed until 1941 when they moved to Hardin, Mont. In 1956 they moved to Worland, Wyo., and later to Manderson, Wyo., where they worked in the beet fields. In 1958 they moved to Jamestown where they lived for three years and in 1961 they moved to Marion, N.D., where they did custodian work at the school. In 1964 they returned to Jamestown where she did housekeeping work at various places. In 1982 they moved to Gackle where they lived until 1993 when they returned to Jamestown. He died Dec. 21, 1996. She entered Gackle Care Center in 2003 and moved to Golden Acre Manor, Carrington, in 2007. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Gackle, serving as deaconess and a Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the Gleaners and Salvation Army, Jamestown. She is survived by a son, Donnie (Judy), Bismarck, N.D.; two daughters, Darlene (Ervin) Zimmer, Carrington, and Marlys Klundt, Gackle; a brother, Ray, Worland; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Grace Baptist Church, Gackle, with the Rev. Tim Blackman officiating. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Haut Funeral Homes, Gackle.
