Catherine E. Reinert, age 100 of Mott, passed away on Thursday evening, November 15, 2012, at the Mott Good Samaritan Society with family by her side. Catherine was born January 25, 1912, at Schefield, ND, to Raymond and Margaret (Schloss) Frank.
She was the tenth of twelve children, and was the last of her siblings.
She started high school, which was taught by the Holy Cross Sisters at Merrill, WI, and eventually returned to graduate from high school in Dickinson, ND. Upon graduation she worked as a nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson, and that is where she met her husband, Nick Reinert.
They were married on October 27, 1936, and celebrated 73 years of marriage in 2009. Their marriage served as an example of commitment and love for each other. Catherine and Nick made their life together on the family farm northeast of Mott. Catherine farmed alongside of Nick enjoying the farm life. She always had a huge garden and loved, most of all, her flowers. Nick and Catherine farmed together for 42 years before retiring in Mott. They entered the nursing home in 2008 and Nick died June 21, 2010.
Catherine celebrated her 100th birthday in January of 2012. It was a wonderful celebration of a woman who served as an example for all of her family. She attended daily mass when possible, and had a deep devotion for Mary, the Mother of God, and prayed the rosary every day. She had been a member of the St. Placidus Choir, and was a member of St. Vincent's Altar Society.
Left with loving memories are their six children, Mildred (Nick) Wegh, Dickinson, Kathy (Jim) Brewster, Olympia, WA, Sister Agnes Reinert O.S.B., Bismarck, ND, Nick (Loretta) Reinert, Dickinson, John (Patty) Reinert, Bismarck, and Ernie (Carol) Reinert, Bismarck. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick; one grandson, Richard Wegh; her parents; nine sisters, Ottilia Sticka, Celestine Stoltz, Sister Ledwina, Appolonia Degele, Mary Eva Steier, Rose Rice, Frances Dolajak, Margaret Miller, Cecilia Romaine; and two brothers, Jim and Sebastian Frank.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine will be held Monday, November 19, 2012, at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott. Fr. Charles Zins and Deacon David Crane will officiate, with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery at Mott. A Rosary Service will be held on Sunday afternoon at St. Vincent's Catholic Church.
Special music will be provided by Joan Backes, organist and the musicians will be Carol Reinert, Margie Frank, and Kathy Jarolimek. Serving as Casketbearers are Catherine's grandsons. The Giftbearers are Catherine's granddaughters. Visitation will be on Saturday at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott, and on Sunday afternoon at St. Vincent's Catholic Church.
