Funeral Mass for Frances Dolajak, 99, of Dickinson, ND will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church Dickinson, ND with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph?s Cemetery.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil service at 7 p.m.
Frances passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at St. Benedict?s Health Care Center, Dickinson, ND.
Frances Frank was born September 8, 1909 on the family farm to Raymond and Margaret (Schloss) Frank. She grew up in the Schefield area and attended country school for several years and later St. Pius Parochial School through the 8th grade. She lived on the farm helping her family until 1929, at which time, the family moved to Dickinson. On October 28, 1930, Frances and Frank Dolajak were united in marriage at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Dickinson. They moved to a farm 8 miles south of Dickinson, where they raised their family and engaged in diversified farming until they retired in 1968 and moved into Dickinson. Frances lived in her home in Dickinson until September 2008, at which time she entered St. Benedict?s Nursing Home until her death. Frances enjoyed crafts, sewing, quilting, crocheting, playing cards and gardening. She especially loved music and played several instruments, the organ, guitar, accordion and omnie chord. Sacred music or hymns were her favorite as evidenced by the many hymn books, tapes and records in her possession.
Frances was an active member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, St. Ann?s Altar Society, Church Choir, Sunday Rosary Leader, Week-Day Liturgy Reader, and Eucharistic Minister for shut-ins and helped to insert material in the church bulletins. She belonged to the German- Hungarian Lodge, a social member of St. Anthony?s Verein, R.S.V.P., Sunset Center, Pioneer Card Club, Happy Time Band, Pioneer Singers and Dancers and Silver Ladies Bowling League.
Frances is survived by her son, Robert Dolajak, Mandan, ND; daughters, Lorraine Huschka, Glendive, MT, Rosetta Davis, Boise, ID and Elaine Heidecker, Dickinson, ND; nineteen grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; sister, Catherine (Nick) Reinert, Mott, ND.
She is preceded in death by both parents; husband, Frank; a daughter, Florence Pantaleo two grandsons, Vern Dolajak and Steve Davis; two brothers and eight sisters.
