Full Obituary: style="padding: 10px;"> Michael A. Mike Himmelspach, 80, Jamestown, ND, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at his home in Jamestown. Michael A. "Mike" Himmelspach was born July 17, 1930, in Yucca Township, near the Mandan-Center, ND area. He was the son of Albin and Magdalena (Koch) Himmelspach. Mike grew up on the family farm and was educated in a rural school. The family moved to Mandan and Mike worked for a Chevrolet garage. He married Viola Hoffman on June 26, 1950 at St. Martins Catholic Church in Center, ND. They made their home in Mandan until moving to Jamestown in 1970. Mike worked for MDU as a welder, and taught many how to weld. He retired as a construction supervisor after 38 years with MDU. Mike operated a bait shop at his residence and later processed meat. He was a member of St. James Basilica; Knights of Columbus; the Eagles; and Dakota Anglers. Mike enjoyed making sausage, hunting, fishing, horse races, casinos, bowling, playing cards, music, camping, gardening, and visiting. He is survived by his wife, Viola, Jamestown; daughter, Joyce Barrick, Hutchinson, MN; son, Richard (Angie), Rapid City, SD; son, Gary, Mandan, ND; daughter, Michele (Mark) Curtis, Jamestown; son, Robert, Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Mary (Kevin) Nelson, Bismarck, ND; daughter, Becky (John) Martin, Idaho Falls, ID; 11 grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, James Barrick; two brothers, Clement and Raymond; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mass of Christian Burial: 1:30p.m, Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown. Prayer Service: 7:00p.m, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown. Visitation: 1:00pm to 7:00pm, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown and one hour before the service at the church. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND. Memorials: May be sent to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
