Edward J. Fuhrmann of Webster Groves died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006. He was 85.
Mr. Fuhrmann was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army's 739th Anti-aircraft Gun Battalion in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Maplewood-Richmond Heights American Legion Post #103.
He was proud of his more than 50 years as an independent sales representative for the Fuller Brush Co.
Mr. Fuhrmann was the husband of Renate Gerken Fuhrmann (nee Smuda) and the late Velma A. Fuhrmann (nee Cox); father of Linda (James) Martin, Carl (Rita) Fuhrmann, and stepfather of Gregory (Arlene) Gerken; grandfather of Lisa Martin, Ethan and Adam Gerken; brother of William (Marge) Fuhrmann and Flora Mae Tumulty; brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, and his parents, George and Ida (nee Piel) Fuhrmann.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Sept. 30, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Shrewsbury. Interment, Lakewood Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice, deGreeff Hospice House, 10016 Kennerly Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63128.
