Roland Schuetz
Roland F. Schuetz, 86, of Venedy, Ill. died Wednesday, May 26, 2004.
He was born at Venedy Township, Washington County, Ill. on March 25, 1918, the son of Edward and Emilie (nee Muelken) Schuetz. He was baptized by the Rev. Schuessler on April 21, 1918, and confirmed by the Rev. Deckinger on March 20, 1932. He was united in marriage to Bernice Vogelpohl in St. Louis, Mo. on Oct. 28, 1942, and she preceded him in death on May 24, 1982.
He was a retired farmer; member of St. Paul United Church of Christ (White Church) near Okawville, Ill., Venedy Sportsman's Club, Washington County Farm Bureau and Washington Lodge 55 AF and AM of Nashville, Ill. He loved to fish and he also enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Left to mourn his passing is a son, Glen (Linda)Schuetz of Venedy, Ill.; a daughter, Sue (Bob) Schwankhaus of Okawville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Aaron, Rachel, and Nathan Schuetz, all of Venedy, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Helen Vogelpohl of St. Louis, Mo. and nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Duane Schuetz; three brothers, Hugo, Alwin and Arthur Schuetz; two sisters, Olga Dryden and Selma Sanders; and a son-in-law, Jerry Lange.
Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Cemetery or to the V.N.A. Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, and until 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004, at the Campagna Funeral Home, Okawville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Okawville, Ill.
