Obituary for Margaret Geissman Gross '68

Margaret was born on April 15, 1921, in Warren, Ohio, to Edward and Edna (Bacon) Geissman, the last of six children. She graduated from Champion High School and Lake Erie College. After graduation from college, she worked as a secretary in Cleveland and then in 1947, she married Richard Gross. After staying home with their four children for 18 years, she took a master of arts in teaching degree at The College of Wooster and taught English and journalism at Wooster High School for 15 years.
She was a past president of the local American Association of University Women and held several positions in the League of Women Voters. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and a member of several committees. She and her husband traveled extensively, both in this country and abroad. Her hobbies were reading, crossword puzzles, bridge and golf.
Margaret was a free-lance journalist, having written for The Daily Record and other newspapers. She wrote the history of Lake Erie College, entitled, ?Dancing on the Table.?
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Robert (Diana Donovan) and their children, Brian, Micah and Margaret of Burnsville, N.C.; Tom (Sue Zuchak) and their children, Scott and Leah of Wooster, John (Peg Redinbaugh) of Wooster, and Kathryn (Luis) Arango of St. Augustine, Fla. Her husband, a granddaughter, her parents and five siblings preceded her in death.
